Next Semester(blog post 8)
The end of a college semester is kind of weird if you ask me, in high school it was no big deal I mean its just the half way point for most of your classes, but here at college it is the end of your current set of classes. It feels like no time at all has passed since I graduated and I am going into my 4th semester. In my experience it is a bit hectic with exams and final projects and what not, additionally there are a quite a few students at this school with a lot majors, so there’s a good chance that the people you have been talking to in class, unless you talk outside of class, wont see each other all that often, maybe you’ll see them in passing or if depending on your luck they may be in another class again. With the end of this semester the people start to think about next semester, We picked classes just last week so for the most part people are done figuring out how their SCHOOL schedule will go but what about other activities? To be honest I have not given much thought to next semester, I have been more concerned with up coming assignments and the upcoming breaks, I’m actively debating staying for thanksgiving, then I still need to get Christmas gifts for my family, on top of all that I’m trying to juggle 3 projects, there has been little time set aside to think about the next semester. But in the end I’m confident in my ability to handle anything college decides to through my way, there is not much I am expecting to be a curve ball, I think i am starting to get this whole college thing down, so all in all I’m excited for this next semester.
I agree with you that the end of a college semester is weird. You have all these classes with a big project due and a whole bunch of papers. It’s just a lot. The semester has also gone by really fast too. It just feels like the other day we just started English class. Everything is hectic with everything going on. I have not hung out with my friends as much, not like the beginning of the semester because we are all working on papers or projects. I picked my classes for next semester and like always it is a big problem. I do not know how other students get their classes everytime and get like one. I am a business major with a focus on accounting and I am taking two criminal justice classes and only 2 classes for my major. I agree with you on not looking so much toward next semester. I have been so focused on this one like yourself. I have two projects and a paper due plus all final exams i have to focus on, but i feel like over break i will be starting to look forward towards it. Unlike yourself, I will be going home for Thanksgiving break. I always go hunting all through the break and go black Friday shopping with my family. What I have realized is that it is the craziest time of year of all the holidays and all these big grades due for classes. It is a very stressful time of year. Like yourself I have found my groove in the college lifestyle and found things to do in my free time that I enjoy in college to get the college experience. Also i have high expectations for myself for the rest of my time here at college since i have found a groove that works for me here.
