SLR
SLR is very important in many different ways: finding/ talking about a career or field, reflecting on writing or just working on a paper/ project in general. When using SLR in my career path it helps me with a sort of organization method. When working in the Health and Physical Education field we will most likely use APA formatting. I feel that being in a health and physical education field, our language is mostly likely up to date information and also very eye opening. When teaching kids in a health and physical education class, teachers want to help reach out to students in the most respectful way possible.
When teaching it’s best to be able to have a bond with the students so that they can understand the importance of their health and physical education. Speaking to the kids we have to make sure our language is understood so students can understand what’s going on in the classroom. When talking about different references in the health and physical education field it’s best to pay attention to the social, cultural, and emotional effects on children.
Working on these methods with students can help them a lot with being encouraged to do something in their life. I feel that it’s best to get the understanding of SLR now because you will get a better understanding of what you’re supposed to talk about in future classrooms. Another reason I feel that it’s important is because organization is the biggest key success when it comes to academic writing. Making sure you’re organized will help you present much better to your audience to where they can get a better understanding on what you look forward to doing in and out of the classroom. Therefore, practicing now with providing a great amount of information will help you in the future and probably encourage others with starting SLR now until later.
Though my major and career goal is much different than yours, it also has many similarities. The major that I am in is the business major. Being a business major, I also have to pay very close attention to how I communicate with others. Using the right structure and language is important for my field because I have to make sure I am able to be understood and understand others when speaking to clients, companies, or my fellow employees. How I communicate with someone can be the make or break of a large business deal. In your field, you have to make sure you communicate with your students in a way that they will understand and learn the best from you.
For my resources, I am also supposed to use the APA format since that is best to use when discussing business or education. It is important for both of us to make sure our sources are up to date and relevant to the topics we are discussing. As a teacher, I know you will definitely be using more current research and knowledge since you will be educating our future generations. The business industry is also forever changing and growing. In order to grow with it, I will need to stay up to date and keep the mindset that I can always learn new things. The data I use will also need to be current in order to stay on top of my game.
I agree with you that learning SLR now is very important because it will be useful for our future and with learning to communicate correctly to our audiences. The organization methods can be utilized through all aspects of our college life and post-college life. In order to succeed the most with our careers, we will need to learn how to stay organized and use the correct language to demonstrate our sophistication and make sense to others in or learning about our same subject.
